Texas Toad

The Texas Toad is a creature I find all the time around the barn and in the mulch, but I didn't know they were called Texas Toads! When I catch these toads, I like to keep them in a five gallon bucket with mud and feed them daily. They always eat the crickets and worms I put in the bucket for them and it is awesome to watch. I often think they escaped the bucket, when I first look in for them, because they are great at digging in the mud and completely camouflaging! The Texas Toad makes a croaking sound that reminds me of a cricket, but it sings for a LONG time!Â
